WASTE AND RESOURCES MANAGEMENT (WARM), INC., is an all -Filipino company that provides waste management solutions for industries and communities. Its avowed mission is to find and develop ways to convert wastes to useful resources so that the volume of residuals is minimized, the environment is preserved, and the clients are satisfied. To accomplish its mission, WARM has previously launched Total Waste Management and more recently, it adopted the tagline “Working Towards Zero Waste!”
For a long time, the concept of Zero Waste was nothing but a “guiding star”. Zero waste, like the “guiding star”, is a concept that tells you “where to go”, but in itself is not reachable.
But when WARM immersed itself studying “Waste to Energy” as a project, it eventually realized that Zero Waste is, in fact, attainable.
WARM’s “Waste to Energy” project aims to convert waste into useful alternative fuel also known as Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF).
Initially, WARM will produce RDFs out of solid wastes and endorse them to entities that would be willing to use them as alternative fuel. This initial phase might entail economic loss for WARM in the beginning. This is something WARM understands and accepts.
In the near future, WARM hopes to be able to generate electricity using RDFs as fuel. Thus, we will be “hitting two birds with one stone” for the country – i.e. help alleviate the problems in solid waste disposal and energy shortage.
And as well bring us very close to a Zero Waste Environment.
